Formalités d’entrée
Reporting procedures for ships and vessels approaching Israeli ports
All vessels must report before entering an Israeli port. Yachts and other small vessels (under 100 tons or 24 meters) must :
1 : Listen to VHF 16 channel, starting at a distance of 100 miles from the coast.
2 : Report to Haifa Station (4XO) or to the Israeli Navy at two distances : 50 miles and 25 miles.
General Procedures for Entrance of Vessels to Ashkelon Marina :
The guest dock is conveniently near the marina offices and the fuel station. The marina staff will assist in the docking procedure. Several forms will be given to the vessels captain.
a. Custom Declaration.
b. Border Polices Entrance Form.
c. Immigration forms for each passenger.
d. Forms include basic information about the vessel, its crew, personal items etc.
After completing entrance and custom procedures, the passengers are welcome to visit Israel.
Next, a permanent docking space will allowed after meeting with the marinas director.
Ashkelon Marina staff can provide tourist information such as hotel reservations, car rental, travel advice etc. All office services are available.
The reports will include the following information :
The vessels name and markings ; Flag ; Number of crew members and nationality ; Vessels color ; Date and local time ; Direction and speed ; Last departure port ; Destination port in Israel ; Estimated arrival time.
Visitor’s Visa
Citizens of the following countries will be issued visitor’s visas or (transit Visas - see below) free of charge at port of entry in Israel : Argentina, Austria, Bahamas, Barbados, Belgium, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Central African Republic, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cyprus, Denmark, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Eire, El Salvador, Fiji, Finland, France, Germany (citizens born January 1, 1928 or later), Greece, Gibraltar, Guatemala, Haiti, Hong Kong, Hungary (fee charged), Italy, Iceland, Jamaica, Japan, Lesotho, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, Malawi, Mauritius, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Paraguay, Philippines, San Marino, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, St. Kitts, Swaziland, Sweden, Switzerland, Trinidad and Nevis, Tobago, United Kingdom (including Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man), Uruguay and the United States.
Citizens of the following countries (as well as stateless persons) should apply for visas before their departure at any Israel diplomatic or consular mission : Antigua and Barbuda, Belize, Benin, Bermuda, Bhutan, Brunei, Burkina Faso (upper Volta), Burma, Burundi, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Chad, Comoros, Congo (Brazzaville), Equatorial Guinea, Guyana, Honduras, India, Ivory coast, Kenya, Kiribati, Liberia, Madagascar, Malta, Maldives, Mali, Marshall Islands, Nauru, Nepal, Nicaragua, Niger, Panama, Papua New Guinea, Peru, Portugal, Romania, Rwanda, Sao Tome and Principe, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Singapore, Solomon Islands, Sri Lanka, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Tanzania, Zaire, Zambia, Zimbabwe.
Citizens of any other country should apply for visas at the nearest Israel diplomatic or consular mission, remitting the prescribed fee.
Extending Your Stay
Visas may be extended (for a nominal fee) at office of the ministry of the Interior in the following locations : Afula, Akko (Acre), Ashkelon, Beer Sheva, Eilat, Hadera, Haifa, Hertzelia, Holon, Jerusalem, Nazareth, Natanya, Petah Tikva, Ramat Gan, Ramle, Rehovot, Safed, Tel Aviv and Tiberias.
Visiting Jordan and Egypt
Land :
Jordan : The Arava Bridge near Eilat and the Sheikh Hussein Bridge in the north is the border checkpoints for Tourist between Israel and Jordan. Bus and taxi service is available to the bridges. Nationals of countries who are required to obtain an Israeli visa in advance should be sure to do so before departure or in any country which has an Israeli diplomatic mission. Visitors who must obtain Israeli visa in advance should do so before visiting Jordan, as such visa cannot be obtained at the bridge or in any Arab country (except Egypt).
Egypt : There are two crossing points from Egypt into Israel :
Rafiah, the main point of entry, located some 50km. (about 30 mi.) Southwest of Ashkelon. Four bus companies routes between Cairo and Tel Aviv and Jerusalem via Rafiah (further information is available at travel agencies in Egypt). Egged Bus No. 362 leaves Tel Aviv for the Rafiah Terminal daily at 8:50a.m, and Rafiah for Tel Aviv at 3:30 p.m.
Taba, just south of Eilat, open 24 hours a day. Visitors may enter Israel on foot, by private car or in organized tour buses. Regular bus service is available between Taba, Santa Katerina (Sinai) and Cairo.
